Sir: Professor Anthony Trewavas (letter, 9 June), may be correct in pointing out that organic farming methods are not perfect.
However, as a consumer I do not have the choice of purchasing food whose principles are exactly the same as mine. I have to compromise. Deciding not to purchase organically labelled foods because they are not organic enough would only give producers and supermarkets more reasons to keep them overpriced and under-promoted.
