Sir: It is with a heavy heart that I report what I believe to be the first, and hope to be the last, use of the word "obsolete" not just as a verb but as a reflexive verb. On In Business this week it apparently connoted the act of wilfully using equipment or software which is or is about to become obsolete. That Radio 4 , last bastion of the civilised word, should be responsible makes me sadder still.
