Letter:Royal trouper

Sir: Far from being unknown, the plays by Ben Jonson and Inigo Jones discovered by the Wilton House Marketing Manager are published and in the British Library (report, 14 September).

This also records B Jonson and I Jones as the joint "inventors" of Loves Triumph through Callipolis, and that it was published in London by T Wakley in 1630.

Much more interesting from the point of view of marketing Wilton House is the fact that the title records not that it was performed at Court "for" Charles I, but "By his Majestie, with the Lords and Gentlemen assisting". Did the King also act in the subsequent Wilton performances?
