Sir: In the Internet world, company names such as Centrica and Corus are not as silly as they appear (leading article, 29 October). They are unique words, easily found by search engines. The dumb names are common words such as Egg, Orange or Marbles, which are either ignored by search engines because they are so common, or produce millions of hits. The dumbest of recent times is Thus, the new name for Scottish Telecom. A company that would like to be an Internet player has become virtually invisible on it.
