Letter: Section 28 in action
Sir: As far as sex education in schools is concerned, the question of whether or not to repeal Section 28 is an empty decision (letters, 1 November). That section of the Local Government Act of 1988 forbids local education authorities to promote homosexuality. However, the same Conservative government also passed the Education Act of 1986, which made sex education in maintained schools the responsibility of the school governors.
