Sir: I note that British women are more than twice as likely as Swedish women to have a baby before they have any domestic partnership. ("Cohabitees create more single parent families," 8 December). The Swedish benefit system ensures that only 2 per cent of single parents are below the poverty line, compared with 54 per cent in Britain. Poverty comes in the door and the chap flies out of the window?
