Sir: It must be the height of hypocrisy for the British state to continue to prosecute elderly men of Eastern European origin for alleged war crimes yet refuse to prosecute an elderly Englishwoman who is a proven enemy of the state. I refer to Melita Norwood, whose career of treachery spans almost half a century and whose sanctimony persists to this day.
