Sir: Any line of questioning about the nature of the universe will ultimately arrive at an unanswerable final question. The line is still worth pursuing because many other questions are answered along the way. For Nicholas Walter (letter, 11 September) to dismiss any such enquiry as a non-question is to imply that there is nothing to learn in that direction. It may be rationalism but it isn't rationality.
