CONCERT series do not come more accident-prone than the Wigmore Hall's 'Prague 1875- 1900'. Our review reported a taxi dash to replace double-bass parts lost when a bomb went off at Bremen Airport. Next day, the cellist Evzen Rattay, en route to play in the Schubert Quintet, was mugged in Brussels by a 10-strong gang and lost his passport and work permit - only deft work in London stopped him being sent back to Prague. The three-part series had begun after the fogbound Kocian Quartet travelled out at the last minute by train. Who says it's a cushy life?
