Q&A with Band Of Skulls
What have you been listening to recently?
I've been listening to radio stations from around the world. Favourites include local stations in Cuba and the Caribbean, an Indian station playing Bollywood hits old and new, American Gospel stations and there's a great station on the east coast of America that only plays music from the 1920's and I always go back through the archives of desert island discs to hear the voices of some very interesting and talented people throughout history from Jacqueline du pre to Vidal Sassoon. - Emma
You've said it's 'back to square one' and 'a new era' in the new album - what should fans expect?
We've treated this album as if it's our debut. We wrote about 100 tunes for this and refined it down to 12 that really spoke to us and that worked well together. So there's lots to look forward to in the future. we are incredibly proud of our first three albums, but on this our fourth we have really let our imaginations let rip. - Russell
What are your plans for summer 2016?
We start touring at the end of April and then for the foreseeable future, playing lots of festivals over the summer. There's so much variety now when it comes to festivals which is amazing, the larger ones are always a lot of fun as well as the smaller ones which can have incredible atmospheres. It's been a while since we've been out touring so we are definitely keen to get back to it and introduce this new album. - Matt
What was the first gig you ever played - and what's been the best so far?
The first gig we ever played was probably the Joiners in Southampton after posting our demo tapes through their letter box and the best so far was selling out Hammersmith Apollo on our last tour. - Emma

Apr 29 Stoke Sugarmill
