Icelandic singer Björk has shared a video for her new single "The Comet Song," from the Nordic children's film Moomins and the Comet Chase. The video was posted on August 23, and the track will be for sale on iTunes beginning September 6.
"The Comet Song" is among Björk's first new material since her 2007 album Volta, which became a top ten album in more than two dozen countries. Since then, the singer released the single "Náttúra," a collaboration with Radiohead's Thom Yorke to benefit Iceland's Náttúra Foundation, and she collaborated on a joint EP with Dirty Projectors to raise money for marine conservation.
The new single can be heard on the soundtrack of the Moomins movie, a 3D film based on the popular Finnish storybook characters of the same name, that was released in Finland in early August. Beginning September 6, the track will be on sale digitally, with all proceeds going to Unicef in support of Pakistan flood victims.
