On March 22, singer Christina Aguilera relaunched her official website in anticipation of her forthcoming album Bionic, due out in 2010. A day later, she revealed that "Not Myself Tonight" would be the name of the first single from that album.

The news came following a 24-hour countdown on the singer's website, with a message that "big news" about the album was on the way. As soon as the single was revealed, at 9:00 am PST, a new 24-hour countdown began, this one set to end on March 24 and promising "more big news." Fans can also sign up for email updates.

Bionic will be Aguilera's first studio album since 2006's Back to Basics, which went platinum in more than a dozen countries, earned a Grammy Award for Best Pop Female Vocal Performance, and was named iTunes' Best Pop Album of the Year.
