Music Box #35: Blackwave

Belgium-based hip hop duo blackwave are the latest to star in The Independent's fourth series of Music Box sessions.

Producer/singer Willem Ardui and rapper Jay Walker jumped on the Eurostar to perform three original tracks – including an exclusive first look at their new song “Home”.

They also did fantastic renditions of their gorgeous track “Elusive” with the wonderful David Ngyah, and the political “Hands Up!”.

Blackwave were recently announced as one of the First Fifty acts for next year's Great Escape festival in Brighton.

They're influenced by everything from Fleet Foxes to The Roots and Brockhampton, along with the best of Nineties hip hop.

Watch their Music Box session (above) and catch them live at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen in London on 27 November.

Music Box season four continues every Monday until 26 November. Watch all of the latest sessions here
