Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival set to get revellers all in a spin in sunny Sète

There is an 18-hour beach party on the last day of Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival, which starts next week, in Sète, in the south of France. This year's line-up, hand-picked by Peterson, includes Raphael Saadiq, Dam-Funk, James Blake, Jamie xx, Flying Lotus, Mount Kimbie, Joy Orbison and Laurent Garnier.

"Six years have passed since the first Worldwide Festival and excitement is still sky high!" says Peterson – the festival's artistic director. "Championing an eclectic and quality mix of musical styles and constantly on the lookout for new artists, the Worldwide Festival team have proved to me that it's possible to pull in more and more fans whilst keeping the original spirit buzzing."

Along with the festival's annual street party outside the Regional Centre of Contemporary Art, revellers can head to the sandy ACD beach, every day for more live music.

The festival continues throughout the evening at the Theatre de la Mer, perched on the cliffs, where on the first night, it is transformed into a disco with DJ Harvey and Peterson spinning the decks. The clubbing and live area, situated in the heart of Sète's harbour, stays open until the early hours of the morning.

A team of chefs from Paris will make delicacies for festival-goers including oysters, shark and squid fillets.

"It's a little journey around the city," explains festival director Franck Alfier. "We are building people's holidays around music and getting them to discover different places around Sète."
