Never ones to do things by halves, this week Bono and co. unveiled one of the strangest stage sets ever seen.

The extraordinary steel structure is 50 metres high and takes crew members four days to assemble. There are three versions of the colossal, spaceship-like structure, designed by Willie Williams and the architect Mark Fisher, so that while this one was in use at U2's 360° tour opener at Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium on Tuesday, another was under construction at a different venue. And that screen has half a million pixels, too.
