Foo Fighters, Muse and Sam Smith will be joining Taylor Swift and Florence + the Machine at this year’s BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, organisers have confirmed.

Announcing the line-up on his breakfast radio show, Scott Mills confirmed that The Vaccines, Olly Murs, Imagine Dragons, Snoop Dog and Alt-J, among other acts, will be playing the annual festival.

Headlining the Saturday night are Devon rockers Muse, set to release their eight studio album in June, while Foo Fighters are set to top Sunday night's bill.

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy told the BBC: “I’m very excited to play. The last time we played Big Weekend, for us it was a disaster, so I can’t wait to make up for it on this performance.

“I’m pretty sure that we may unveil another new song that we will play for the first time which is pretty exciting.”

Also confirmed to play are Ben Howard, George Ezra, Jamie T, Hozier, Years & Years, Catfish & the Bottlemen and Jungle.

Dave Grohl said: “I’m really excited, I can’t wait to come out. I don’t really think we’ve ever played there before so I’m looking forward to it.”

Radio 1’s Big Weekend will be taking place at Norwich’s Earlham Park between the 23rd and 24th of May. You can see the full line-up here.
