US rapper Lil Wayne's highly anticipated and much-delayed upcoming album, Tha Carter IV, is now set for release on August 29, according to MTV US.
In an interview posted this week, the rap star told MTV News that "the album is done and it'll be out August 29," adding "it's totally done." The disc was originally slated for a May release, then June, and now August, giving the artist more time to finesse the lyrics.
No specifics are yet available as to whether or not August 29 will be its widespread release or just US.
This album will be Lil Wayne's fourth in his Tha Carter series and features Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Corey Gunz, and T-Pain.
His last and eighth studio effort, I Am Not a Human Being, released digitally last September and peaked at number one on US album charts. Lil Wayne's 2008 album Tha Carter III won a Grammy for Best Rap Album, debuted at number one on the US Billboard chart and has sold 3.2 million copies worldwide.
