US rap star Kanye West holds steady as the hottest topic in the blogosphere on November 9, according to The Hype Machine. US indie rockers Smith Westerns and Australian outfit Tame Impala take second and third positions. Also in the top ten are Warpaint and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.

Bloggers are swapping a new single by New York synth-pop indie band The Pains of Being Pure at Heart titled "Heart In Your Heartbreak." The single officially releases digitally and as a 7-inch EP on December 14 and follows the band's 2009 debut album, Belong. "It's a smart pop song that has a lot of crunch," reviews We All Want Someone To Shout For (www.weallwantsomeone.org) of the new track. "It sounds bolder and confident. These guys know what they do, and they are continuing to do it extremely well."

The Los Angeles all-female rock troupe Warpaint is back in the blogs after Blackbird Blackbird, the project of San Francisco musician Mikey Sanders, released a remix of the band's track "Undertow." "Along with great production, the guy's got great timing," writes blogger Redthreat (redthreat.wordpress.com) of the remix, with its "dreamy beats" and "psychedelity" (disconaivete.tumblr.com).
