Dance-punk act LCD Soundsystem is the top-blogged musical act of the moment, according to The Hype Machine. The band is generating buzz as it shares singles and videos leading up to the release of album This is Happening. Other popular acts on April 20 include Brooklyn indie band The National and Toronto electronic duo Crystal Castles, while Blur and Best Coast are new to the top ten this week.

Blur has broken into the top ten after offering its one-off single "Fool's Day" as a free download on its website. The British band recorded the track in early April for release as a limited 7" on Record Store Day, April 17; the single sold out almost instantly and was then offered online to "avoid fans having to illegally obtain an inferior copy." "Fool's Day" is the first song the four members of Blur have recorded together since 2003.

Best Coast is Los Angeles musician Bethany Cosentino and bassist Bobb Bruno, who became known to indie music lovers through a string of garage rock 7" singles and a four-song EP in 2009. The duo is expected to release its first full-length album in 2010 and recently made available a video for its track "When I'm With You." The Sound of Indie (www.thesoundofindie.com) describes the group's sound: "Best Coast have a nice 50s girl-group aspect to their songs with the recordings drenched in fuzzed-out Jesus and Mary Chain-esque guitar."
