Abba take a chance on museum - and fans can try on the costumes

Abba want to be remembered for more than just their catchy hits.

A museum opens in Stockholm on Tuesday to show off the paraphernalia the Swedish band accumulated during the height of their fame in the 1970s. Among the items is a helicopter featured on the cover of their Arrival album, a star-shaped guitar and loads of glitzy costumes – with a few exceptions.

Band member Bjorn Ulveaus said certain items were “forever lost”, like the “embarrassing” costumes he wore when he was “slightly overweight”. Visitors can try on the costumes, record music videos and sing hits such as “Dancing Queen” and “Mamma Mia” in a studio.
