At Adele concerts there are a couple of things you can expect; mid-tempo ballads, a Lionel Ritchie throwback, a couple of people proposing to their partners. You’re not likely to have the songstress perform a Beyoncé-esque dance routine, that’s for sure.

However, in an attempt to liven things up a bit, the singer decided to whip out some very unexpected dance moves, twerking half way through her set at London’s O2 Arena.

"Oh my god, I just twerked. I think I just twerked!” she told to the thousands of onlookers. "I can’t do it that well. My whole body has to move. My bum could break my back it’s so enormous.” Watch below.

Adele is just over midway through her eight-date residency, having previously told audiences at the O2 that she will be headlining the Saturday Night of Glastonbury festival.

"I wanted to do it last year but my record wasn't ready,” she told that audience. “And to the people who say I am too boring to headline, you're more f**king boring for moaning about me headlining.”

Also topping the Glastonbury bill are Coldplay and Muse, while James has been announced to be opening the Worthy Farm bash.

In other “funny things that happened at concerts” news, Rhianna handed the microphone to a fan in the crowd and they nailed it, blowing away the singer and the internet in just 10 seconds.
