Adele realises autistic 12-year-old girl's dream by inviting her to sing on stage

Despite being stratospherically successful, Adele still seems like one of the most down-to-earth music artists there is.

This was corroborated by an occurrence at a recent date of her 105-date world tour which saw her realise the dreams of a 12-year-old fan in the crowd.

Holding a sign emblazoned with the words "It's my dream to sing with Adele," the Manchester Evening News reports how the British artist invited Emily Tammam on stage at the sold-out Manchester Arena gig to do just that.

The two duetted on Adele's renowned track "Someone Like You," which led to a standing ovation from the assembled audience.

Speaking to The Mirror, Emily's father Ray said that his daughter - who suffers from autism, ADHD and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type three - "...has a constant struggle with social situations, but amazingly she manages to sing in public. She has a different persona when she is on stage.

“Adele was very nice to do that, she clearly didn’t have to... Emily said she wants to show people that have disabilities or mental issues they can still do mainstream things like singing - they should not be stopped from doing them.”

The singer, currently in the midst of the epic tour, is playing three more sold out dates in Manchester. She'll next play London's O2 Arena from 15-22 March.

During her first date at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Adele helped an audience member propose to her boyfriend.
