Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner surprises fans with huge image change
The musician displayed a surprise new look during US TV performance
Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has raised eyebrows with yet another image change he's unveiled midway through the promotion of the group's most recent record.
Turner dropped into The Late Show with Stephen Colbert the same day they released the video for title track “Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino” complete with a very unexpected shaved head.
The Sheffield quartet performed album closer 'The Ultracheese“ for the first time on TV having dropped it into sets sporadically since hitting the road in April.
Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino divided critics upon its release in May with many acknowledging the group's first record since 2013's AM was a slow burn of the highest order. Since then, its harshest critics have warmed to it with many embracing the new sound and space-themed lyrics featured throughout.
They performed a rip-roaring charity show at Royal Albert Hall just last month where they showcased hits from all their records to date including record-breaking debut Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not.
Arctic Monkeys will tour the UK in September including dates at London's 02 Arena as well as several homecoming shows in Sheffield.
