Bastille announce next album Doom Days as they release new single Joy

The British band are back, three years after their last album

Bastille have announced the release date of their next album and unveiled a new single, three years after their most recent studio release.

The British band announced on Thursday that their third album, titled Doom Days, will be available on 14 June.

“We can’t wait for you lot to hear it,” the group told fans on Twitter.

Bastille’s new single, “Joy”, premiered on BBC Radio One on the same day and is now available to fans.

The band shared the upcoming album’s full track list on social media and explained the meaning behind the tunes.

“[The album] opens with “Quarter Past Midnight” and charts the course of one apocalyptic night, finishing the next morning with a little bit of hope on the kitchen floor and our new single “Joy” (really hope you like it),” they wrote.

"Looking forward to seeing what tracks you lot like the most.”

There are 11 songs total in the album.

In addition to “Quarter Past Midnight” and “Joy”, they are titled “Bad Decisions”, “The Waves”, “Divide”, “Million Pieces”, “Doom Days”, “Nocturnal Creatures”, “4AM”, “Another Place” and “Those Nights”.

Dan Smith, Kyle Simmons, Will Farquarson​ and Chris Wood previously released Wild World in 2016. It followed up on their first album Bad Blood, which came out in 2013.
