The Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb was in a coma last night after contracting pneumonia while undergoing treatment for cancer.
His family were at his bedside at a hospital in Chelsea, west London.
Gibb, 62, had surgery on his bowel 18 months ago for an unrelated condition, and a tumour was discovered. He was diagnosed with cancers of the colon and the liver.
The latest deterioration in his health coincides with reports of a secondary tumour.
