Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles Lawson says family tested negative for Covid-19

Beyoncé took a Covid-19 test that came back negative, the singer’s mother Tina Knowles-Lawson has said.

Knowles-Lawson revealed that her daughter and the rest of her family had taken tests during an appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, Harpers Bazaar reports.

“We all got tested,” she said, continuing: ”We’ve gotten the results back and everybody is okay, and so I hope we can get together this Mother’s Day and have dinner together – and I can actually touch them for real.”

Knowles-Lawson confided that she has felt particularly “sad” on the weekends, as this is usually the time she gets to see her grandchildren.

“So on Sunday mornings, I got the blues,” she told her host.

Beyoncé, who recently released a remix with Megan Thee Stallion of the rapper’s song “Savage”, has worked with Knowles-Lawson to encourage people in their native Houston, Texas, to get tested for Covid-19.

The artist also donated $6 million via her BeyGOOD initiative, which offers support to essential services such as food banks in cities across the US.

In April, she sent a heartfelt message to the public during the One World: Together at Home concert, and praised all key workers on the frontline during the pandemic.
