Forbes magazine has labelled Beyoncé the highest-earning woman in music in 2014, having experienced the biggest year of her career and having doubled her earnings from last year.

In 2013, the superstar brought in $53 million. This year, she raked in a tidy $115 million.

According to Forbes and Pollstar, during the period surveyed Beyoncé played 95 shows and on average she took home $2.4 million per city. The release of her self-titled surprise album in December 2013 also helped boost the singer's earnings.

Beyoncé's bank balance was also aided with endorsement deals from H&M and Pepsi.

The singer, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, may see things get even better, having announced last week that she will launch a label of athletic streetwear with Topshop for autumn 2015.

"This not a collaboration. This is about building a brand and building a business - a separate, proper business, with separate overhead and a separate office," Topshop owner Sir Philip Green said of the deal.

Pink and Rihanna are third and fourth on the list, worth roughly $52 million and $48 million respectively.
