Linkin Park release Chester Bennington ‘Carpool Karaoke’ filmed days before singer's death

Singer laughs with bandmates and US comedian Ken Jeong as they drive around Los Angeles

Footage of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington and his bandmates taking part in Carpool Karaoke less than a week before his death.

The band released the 20-minute video of him singing and laughing alongside them with US comedian Ken Jeong.

Posted on their Facebook, a script at the beginning of the video said: “With the blessing of Chester’s family and his bandmates we share this episode and dedicate it to the memory of Chester”.

Bennington, 41, recorded the video on 14 July – six days before he killed himself at his home in Palos Verdes, California.

He was recorded driving around Los Angeles singing along to several different songs including the band’s own hits.

The performed a version of “Under the Bridge” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers with different lyrics, and “Hey Ya” by OutKast.

Towards the end of the film, which also features Jeong interviewing the band about their music, the group get into a limuosine where they sing “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Carpool Karaoke is a spin-off web series of a popular segment on The Late Late Show pioneered by British comedian James Corden.

The segment saw various celebrities accompanying Corden as he drove around LA while singing pop songs.

In August, Apple Music launched a new feature length version of the series with different celebrities standing in for Corden, who serves as executive producer.
