Chuck Mosley dead: Former lead singer of Faith No More dies, aged 57
'We’re sharing the manner in which he passed, in the hopes that it might serve as a warning or wake up call or beacon to anyone else struggling to fight for sobriety,' family says in a statement

Chuck Mosley, the former frontman of Faith No More, has died at the age of 57, his family has said.
A statement from the family said that Mosley, whose full name was Charles Henry Mosley III, died due to complications caused by addiction.
It said: “After a long period of sobriety, Charles Henry Mosley III lost his life, on 9 November 2017, due to the disease of addiction.
“We’re sharing the manner in which he passed, in the hopes that it might serve as a warning or wake up call or beacon to anyone else struggling to fight for sobriety.”
Considered a seminal hard rock group, San Francisco-based Faith No More broke up in 1998, reformed in 2009 and are currently on hiatus. Mosley was the band's lead singer between 1984 and 1988 – when he was fired from the band – recording on their first two albums We Care a Lot and Introduce Yourself.
Mosley played with future Faith No More bassist Bill Gould in a band called the Animated. The pair relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area and joined Faith No More in 1983, helping the band establish its famous funk-metal sound.
After his years in Faith No More, Mosley continued to work in music singing for the hardcore band Bad Brains, and playing in funk metal outfit, Cement.
A Los Angeles native, the singer is survived by his long-term partner Pip Logan and two daughters Erica and Sophie.
