Desert Trip lineup: Rock legends confirmed for mega festival and the ticket prices are eye-watering

If you want to see The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Roger Waters and The Who live at the epic mega festival confirmed by Coachella’s organisers, you’d better have a well-stocked savings account.

The rock titans will be performing at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California from 7 to 9 October at an event titled Desert Trip for $399 for a three-day pass and $199 for a single day.

Music lovers hoping for a spot in the standing pit will have to fork out an eye-watering $1,599, while reserved floor tickets cost a minimum of $699. Reserved grandstand passes start from $999.

The festival will also feature a stellar line-up of world famous chefs with food courtesy of 40 of the best restaurants from Los Angeles to New York.

The Desert Trip details were finally revealed in an announcement video from the Goldenvoice team on Tuesday afternoon.

The Who’s Roger Daltrey strongly hinted last month that he would be playing the festival alongside Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters. “It’s a fantastic idea. It’s the greatest remains of our era,” he said. “I hope a lot of normal fans can get tickets before they get snatched up.” Sadly that looks unlikely, now that the insane prices have been revealed.

The six acts are reportedly being paid a massive $7 million for their sets, with each act giving a full festival performance complete with their typical stage production. It will be the first time that Dylan and McCartney have ever shared a billing.
