Drake and Meek Mill end beef with new surprise collaboration
'I just jumped out of anger and what I thought was the truth at the time,' Mill said of the beef
Drake makes an appearance on a track from Meek Mill‘s new album Championships, finally quashing the years long feud between the pair.
The duo have collaborated on “Going Bad”, with Mill releasing the full track list for his upcoming album. Their beef dates back to 2015, when Mill accused Drake of using a ghostwriter for their previous collaboration “R.I.C.O.”.
Things swiftly escalated when Drake hit back with a scathing diss tracked titled “Back to Back”, referencing Mill opening for then-girlfriend Nicki Minaj on her Pinkprint tour with the line: “Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?”
However, the pair first put their differences aside during Drake’s Aubrey and the Three Migor Tour, when Mill came out on stage during his Boston show. Mill performed his 2012 hit “Dreams and Nightmares”, while Drake called the rapper “his brother”.
“I was just out of control at that point in my life. Getting high and doing whatever I wanted how I wanted to do it. In front of the world, not behind the scenes,” Mill told Vulture about the beef. “I don’t know his writing situation or how he really carried it. I just jumped out of anger and what I thought was the truth at the time.”
Jay-Z and Rick Ross will also appear on Championships, with Cardi B continuing her own feud with Minaj on the track "On Me".
