Drake's new album 'Views From The 6' coming soon to Apple's new streaming service Connect

Still no word on a release date

Because partnering with a major tech company is the only way to release an album now, Drake made an appearance at Apple's WWDC last night to announce that his next LP will premiere on its new streaming service, Connect.

Drizzy didn't reveal any new details about the album, still believed to be called Views From The 6, or indicate when it will drop, instead focusing on talking up Apple's upcoming new platform, which he said will focus on artists' bodies of work.

Taking a swipe at Spotify, Tidal, YouTube, Vevo, SoundCloud and the thousand other music mediums, he said that Connect will attempt to bring music altogether.

"Instead of having to post your stuff on these different and sometimes confusing places," he said. "It's all in one place: Connect."

It would be surprising if Drake's new album came very soon given the world has only just recovered from his insanely popular If You're Reading This Too Late mixtape, and in April it emerged that he only had two song finished for it that he likes.

One, according to Four Pins, is a collaboration with Beyoncé, the other a song that 'he expects to inspire a paradigm shift'.

Drake's long-serving collaborator The Weeknd performed at WWDC, debuting a new track called Can't Feel My Face.
