Ed Sheeran featured in obituary for 82-year-old Icelandic mechanic
Unusual editorial decision was spotted and shared on Twitter by Icelandic artist Ari Gudmundsson
Ed Sheeran appeared to be "killed off" accidentally after a newspaper in Iceland ran his picture with an obituary for an 82-year-old Volvo mechanic.
Svavari Gunnari Sigurðsson apparently worked as a Sheeran tribute performer in his spare time, so the newspaper chose to feature the singer-songwriter's image instead of Sigurðsson.
The odd editorial decision was spotted and shared on Twitter by Icelandic artist Ari Gudmundsson (below).
Sheeran recently announced that he is engaged to longtime girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.
Sharing the news on Instagram, he wrote: “Got myself a fiance just before New Year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well.
The pair are believed to have first begun dating in 2015, though they both attended Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Sussex, together.
Sheeran's hit songs “Shape of You” and “Perfect” are both said to be about Seaborn. "Shape of You" is up for a Grammy award this Sunday, for Best Pop Solo Performance. His record-breaking album Divide is also up for Best Pop Vocal Album.
