Last week, an announcement suggested that the long-awaited second record from Frank Ocean, Boys Don't Cry, was to be released yesterday (5 August) and fans were naturally sent into overdrive.

However, the day has now come and gone and there's still no sign of the album.

The original source told the New York Times that Boys Don't Cry was to be released exclusively via Apple Music - news fuelled by a mysterious video appearing on the musician’s website in the days leading up to the supposed released date.

What is the hype behind Frank Ocean's new album?

Seeming to corroborate the imminent release was a “due date" library card which appeared on his website back in July. Stamped in red in the image was 'July 2016' - but with that date now past, fans are taking the inclusion of '13 Nov 2016' to mean this is when the album will actually be released.

Just when Frank Ocean decides to drop his album, no one really knows. One thing's for sure; the uncertainty cements its status as one of the year's most anticipated releases.
