Glastonbury 2016: Adele rumoured to be headlining after bookies receive surge of bets
'Punters have piled into her odds, and with tickets on sale in a couple of weeks Festival organisers may have let a cat out of the bag'

It’s that time of the year again, folks. Glastonbury registrations are about to close (29 September), tickets are getting ready to be sold (1 October for coach tickets and 4 October for standard tickets) and the bookies have put out who they think will be headlining.
Even though she hasn’t actually released an album since 2011, Adele is one of the favourites to top the Pyramid stage’s bill.
According to Ladbrokes, they have received a surge of bets for the singer over a 24 hour period. One representative said: “Adele’s going to be rolling in the Glastonbury mud next year if this gamble is on the money. Punters have piled into her odds, and with tickets on sale in a couple of weeks Festival organisers may have let a cat out of the bag.”
Also very, very strongly rumoured - almost defiantly headlining - are Foo Fighters. They were going to play the Worthy Farm bash this year but pulled out last minute due to Dave Growl breaking his leg.
There aren’t that many surprises on the bookies list, with regulars Coldplay as well as the regular rumours - Prince, Oasis, Fleetwood Mac, Radiohead and Pink Floyd all - all having slim odds.
Surprisingly, Ed Sheeran is on for 3/1, although he has yet to headline a major music festival. Of course, he has sold out a number of gigs at Wembley Stadium, but is he a headliner?

Also up there, with 10/1 odds, are Royal Blood. The rock duet have only released one album and are much heavier than classical Galstonbury headliners.
