She’s won an Oscar, been voted one of the most powerful celebrities in the world, and now Jennifer Lawrence can add another string to her bow.

The actress has claimed her first UK top 40 single with new track "The Hanging Tree" taken from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack.

The song has been scored by composer James Newton Howard and features Lawrence singing, despite describing her voice as a “tone deaf Amy Winehouse” on the David Letterman Show earlier this month.

Lawrence stars as the Hunger Games’ brave protagonist Katniss Everdeen, who became the highest-grossing action movie heroine earlier this year.

The single is currently at number 29 in the UK top 40, according to mid-week sales figures from the Official Charts Company.

The official chart position of the track will not be confirmed until Sunday.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 has broken box office records in the US and the UK to become the highest-grossing box office opening of 2014 so far.

The hit film franchise is based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling dystopian novel series that has sold more than 65 million copies in the US alone.

The final movie, Mockingjay Part 2, will be released in November 2015.
