Joss Stone ‘detained and deported’ from Iran on final stop of world tour

Joss Stone has said that her dream dinner party guest is Jordan Peterson.

The singer gave the answer in a recent Q&A with The Guardian

Asked who she would invite to her “dream dinner party”, Stone replied: “Jordan Peterson: he’s so interesting.”

The Canadian psychologist and author of the self-help book 12 Rules for Life is a controversial figure, having amassed a substantial alt-right following by styling himself as an opponent of “political correctness”.

Last year, a row emerged at publishing house Penguin Random House over the decision to publish his latest book, with employees claiming that the company had been intentionally secretive about the title’s publication in order to avoid backlash.

Peterson found fame in 2016 owing to his YouTube series titled Professor Against Political Correctness

As reported by The Guardian, during the series, Peterson spoke out against a federal amendment to add gender identity and expression to the Canadian Human Rights Act, and his university’s plans for mandatory anti-bias training.

Elsewhere in the Q&A, Stone was asked: “If you could bring something extinct back to life, what would you choose?”

The Grammy-winner replied: “Tolerance.”

She also revealed that her “guiltiest pleasure” is cigarettes, and that the trait she most “deplores” in herself is “weakness”.

The 34-year-old recently surprised audiences when she was revealed to be the celebrity persona behind Sausage, the winner of The Masked Singer’s second season.

In 2019, Stone was deported from Iran on the final stop of her Total World Tour, for which she attempted to perform in 200 countries.

The Devon-born star currently lives in Nashville with her partner, Cody DaLuz, and their three-month-old baby, Violet.
