Ever thought “Wow, Weezer’s "Say It Ain’t So" and Kanye West’s "Power" would really work well together”? Probably not, but luckily a 19-year-old university student from Ohio did.

In one of the greatest mash-up albums to ever hit the internet, Alex Hodowance fused the rock of Weezer and the vocals of Kanye West to create ‘Yeezer’.

Highlights include opening track “Through the Hills” - the combination of West’s "Through the Wire" and the 2005 hit “Beverly Hills” - and “American Island” - a mix of the Estelle featuring “America Boy” and “Island in the Sun”. Listen to the 10 track album below.

A friend had initially blurted out the name Yeezer as a joke but soon things got serious. Talking to Radio.com, Hodowance said: “The first song I started working on was the first song on the album [Through the Hills].

“It was really just a matter of finding songs that had similar feels and tempos from that point on. Once that first song clicked, I thought, you might as well just go for nine more, right?”

The album was uploaded to Bandcamp on 6 October to Bandcamp and quickly gained attention through Reddit.

It’s currently available for free, and Hodowance hopes it stays this way, calling himself “just a disciple” to West and Weezer.
