Keith Flint death: Prodigy front man dies aged 49

The Prodigy singer Keith Flint died as the result of hanging, an inquest has heard.

The 49-year-old was found dead at his home in Dunmow, Essex, on 4 March.

“Police attended, all protocols were followed and his death was confirmed as not suspicious,” Coroner’s officer Lynsey Chaffe told a two-minute hearing in Chelmsford on Monday.

A post-mortem examination was carried out at Broomfield Hospital on 7 March.

Ms Chaffe said this remains under investigation while toxicology reports are awaited.

Senior coroner for Essex Caroline Beasley-Murray opened and adjourned the inquest until 23 July for a full hearing.

Flint’s bandmate Liam Howlett had earlier said in an Instagram post “our brother Keith took his own life over the weekend”.

Howlett and fellow bandmate Maxim described Flint as “a true pioneer, innovator and legend”.

They said he was their “brother and best friend” and “will be forever missed”.
