Kings of Leon new album Walls: Band break their five-syllable album title tradition for the first time

Their seventh album is out in October

You might not have noticed, but Kings of Leon always pick album titles with five syllables.

Seriously, here’s their discography thus far:

It was a random and quite enjoyable little Easter egg, but the band ditched the tradition today, announcing a new album simply titled Walls.

Update: Well damn, seems they didn't ditch it completely - it's an acronym:

It will be out on 14 October and was produced by Markus Dravs, who apparently had a big impact on the record.

"He just said things that nobody had ever said to us. Like, 'I don't like that song, that's not good, we can move on from that.'" Jared Followill told Billboard, adding that Dravs would make them write new verses on the fly, or suddenly change the style, pace or genre of the song: "He'd be like, 'OK, now play it like the Sex Pistols.' And then you've turned a slow song into a fast one."
