Kylie Minogue to release new album Disco in November
New album will be a departure from 2018’s country-inspired ‘Golden’
Kylie Minogue is releasing a new disco-inspired album in November.
On Tuesday (21 July), the Australian pop star announced that her 15th studio album, Disco, would be released on 6 November, writing on social media: “Lovers! New music is ON THE WAY!”
The album’s lead single, “Say Something”, will debut this Thursday (23 July) on Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 show.
Minogue had previously described the new album as having a “grown-up disco” sound, saying: “Even grown-ups need some pure pop fun.”
Disco will mark a departure from Minogue’s last album, the country-inspired Golden, which topped the UK album charts following its 2018 release.
In May, Minogue, 52, revealed that she had been recording new music from her living room during lockdown, saying: “I’ve been really busy, setting up a home studio (AKA, my lounge room!) and learning so much about remote recording.
“It’s been a steep learning curve for all the team as there are technical obstacles to navigate but I’m so thankful to be able to continue work on my album in this way. I’ve been riding the emotional wave along with the rest of the world, but creativity has been a big help,” she said.
