One Direction have, predictably, sent Twitter into a frenzy after announcing a new single and the title of their next album at the same time.

The band announced the pre-album launch for Made in the A.M in a video message released on 22 September, along with their new track "Infinity". The full album will be released worldwide on Friday 13 November.

To celebrate the news, they released the surprise track for anyone who pre-orders or streams the record. It is likely to be their last release before they take an extended break.

Their announcement comes as they continue their sold out "On The Road Again" tour, which includes six nights at London’s O2 Arena.

They are also set to headline the Apple Music Festival at the Roundhouse in London.

One Direction released the first single from Made in the A.M in August. "Drag Me Down" shot to number one at the beginning of the month and was quickly followed by a video for the surprise track.
