Madonna releases new song Medellin in character as Madame X
The singer has introduced fans to her new secret agent alter ego
Madonna has released a brand new song.
Days after announcing a new record – her first in four years – the pop singer has unveiled “Medellin”, which features the Colombian singer Maluma.
The track, taken from forthcoming album Madame X, debuted on Zane Lowe’s Beats1 and can be heard on iTunes.
Madonna announced new material last week in a video she posted introducing her fans to a secret agent alter ego.
As Madame X, she said she will be touring the world while “changing identities, fighting for freedom [and] bringing light to dark places.”
Madonna continued: “She is a cha cha instructor. A professor. A head of state. A housekeeper. An equestrian. A prisoner. A student. A teacher. A nun. A cabaret singer. A saint. A prostitute.”
The singer will perform two songs at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place on 18 May in Tel Aviv.
Madame X will be released on 14 June.
