Mariah Carey has collaborated with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson on a Christmas song.

The singer will this year host a new Christmas special, which will be released on Apple TV+ on 4 December.

Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special will feature musical performances from Grande and Hudson, who will be joining Carey to perform a special version of her 2010 single “Oh Santa!”

Sharing the news of the collaboration on social media, Grande wrote: “#MariahsMagicalChristmas coming to @appletv on december 4th (no i’m not okay nor will i ever recover) love u forever.”

The one-off episode will also include comedy scenes and animated sequences, with additional appearances from Snoop Dogg, Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland, Mykal-Michelle Harris and The Peanuts Gang.

Carey, 50, first carved out her niche as the queen of Christmas in 1994 with the release of “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.

Last year, the song finally topped the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, 25 years after it was released.

The song re-entered the US iTunes chart on 1 November this year, the day after Halloween.

Carey celebrated the shift from October to November with a hilarious social media video in which a masked figure in a Halloween costume is seen creeping through a house before opening a door covered in cobwebs and bearing the words “not yet” and “too soon”.

Behind the door, Carey is sat in a Christmas grotto complete with fake snow and Christmas trees.

“It’s time,” the singer says, before screaming in excitement as the opening lines of her festive hit begins to play.
