McFly excite fans with cryptic video on Twitter
Band’s most recent album dates back to 2010

McFly have prompted speculation among their fans by sharing an enigmatic video on Twitter.
The clip, which lasts for 18 seconds, simply features the blinking image of a microphone.
Posted on Monday, it marks the pop band’s first tweet in more than a year.
Their last message before this one dates back to March 2018, when McFly collectively wished bassist Dougie Poynter good luck with his new band, INK.
“Even though we are all working on solo projects in 2018, McFly are still looking forward to working on a new record some time in the future,” the 2018 tweet reads.
While McFly have yet to clarify the true meaning of Monday’s tweet, fans promptly expressed hope that it means the band might release a new album soon.
The image of the microphone is currently also the band’s profile image on the platform.
McFly’s most recent album, Above the Noise, dates back to 2010.
It was the band’s fifth release, six years after their debut Room on the 3rd Floor.
Back in January this year, Poynter stoked rumours of a possible McFly comeback, telling Sean Smith’s Sappenin’ podcast: ‘McFly will at least start writing by the summer and I can’t wait.
“I love that band and I love the guys. It’s awesome.”
