Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart have had private nude photos of themselves leaked online and released on an internet porn site.

Dozens of other high profile individuals such as Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods also had images of themselves hacked and published on the site.

Despite the fact the star’s lawyers are reportedly working diligently to ensure the images are removed, the photos are being disseminated around the internet.

According to TMZ, the images of Woods and Vonn, who broke up in May 2015, were hacked from Vonn’s phone.

They are said to include images of the golfer and the Olympic gold medalist skier that the pair sent to each other when they were still in a relationship.

But the porn site is said to have now removed the stolen photos of the former couple after being threatened with legal action.

“The hackers responsible for these despicable invasions of privacy should be prosecuted," Andrew Brettler, a lawyer whose firm Lavely & Singer represents a number of the hacking victims, told Variety.

"And the websites that post the stolen photographs and videos should be held accountable, too, because they provide a platform for these lowlifes to showcase their ‘work'.'”

Lavely & Singer were said to have succeeded in getting the photos and videos of other celebrities removed from the site but the firm did not name its clients.

Vonn’s spokesperson said in a statement: “It is an outrageous and despicable invasion of privacy for anyone to steal and illegally publish private intimate photos.”

“Lindsey will take all necessary and appropriate legal action to protect and enforce her rights and interests. She believes the individuals responsible for hacking her private photos as well as the websites that encourage this detestable conduct should be prosecuted to the fullest extent under the law.”

They are of course not the only celebrities to have nude photos leaked. Jennifer Lawrence was one of the first actresses to be targeted by hackers leaking naked pictures of high-profile women on an internet forum.

The actor was one of over 100 celebrities who was targeted in the 4chan scandal in September 2014. She later branded the incident a “sex crime”.

Speaking afterwards, Lawrence told Vanity Fair: “It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime. It is a sexual violation. It’s disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. That’s why these websites are responsible.

“Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebody’s mind is to make a profit from it. It’s so beyond me. I just can’t imagine being that detached from humanity. I can’t imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside.”

The hack saw naked images of high-profile actors, musicians, models and presenters leaked on the website 4chan, an image sharing forum, in a hack linked to the Apple iCloud service. The list was predominantly made up of female stars and included Rihanna, Kate Upton, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Cara Delevingne and many more.

Representatives for Cyrus and Stewart did not immediately respond to request for comment.
