Mumford & Sons are back.

Three years after their third album Wilder Minds topped the UK charts, the banjo-wielding group have released the first track from their upcoming fourth record, titled Delta.

The new single “Guiding Light” – a slow building folksy track that’s apparently “emblematic” of the new album – has been made available online and will be followed by the album on 16 November.

Delta keeps the scale of 2015’s Wilder Minds but couples it with the “intimacy and jubilance” fans have come to expect from the quartet, the announcement said.

Paul Epworth – who has previously worked with Adele, Florence and the Machine and Rihanna – has produced the album, which was recorded in The Church Studios, London.

To coincide with the release, the band will embark on a 60-date tour, beginning in November. During that time, their debut album Sigh No More will turn 10 years old. Details of the tour will be announced on the 4 October.

Mumford & Sons have already debuted material from Delta live, including the song “Guiding Light” which was played at this year’s Sziget festival.
