All the festivals planning to go ahead this summer, from Reading and Leeds to Parklife

Boris Johnson announced plans to lift limits on social contact from 21 June at the earliest

Reading and Leeds, Parklife and TRNSMT are among the festivals planning to go ahead this summer.

Under the government’s plans to ease lockdown restrictions, which were announced on Monday (22 February), legal limits on social contact will be lifted in England from 21 June at the earliest.

If this timeline remains intact, festivals could go ahead this summer, providing that the vaccine programme is reducing hospital admissions and infection rates stay down. The government is also conducting tests this month (April) to see whether large-scale events will be possible

While they are by no means certain to happen, a number of festivals have announced their plans to go ahead in 2021.

On Friday (26 March), Glasgow festival TRSNMT announced that it had been moved from its usual July date to 10-12 September, with Liam Gallagher, The Chemical Brothers and The Courteeners headlining.
