No twerking for Miley Cyrus as singer covers up in New Year's Eve concert
Miley wore a floor-length fur coat, gold sequin trousers and a matching top
It was the moment the world had been waiting for...Watching Miley Cyrus twerk her way to 2014 on the Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve concert in Times Square.
Unfortunately, those hoping for a controversial performance were left disappointed as the freezing temperatures in New York City prevented Miley from twerking half-naked or wearing her favourite latex outfit.
The singer, who was battling a cold and didn't feel too well, was forced to wear a floor-length fur coat, gold sequin trousers and a matching top, admitting that was "the most clothes" she had worn in a long time.
On the plus side, she treated fans to a heartfelt performance of her hit song Wrecking Ball and Get It Right from her fourth studio album Bangerz. And, of course, she was joined by her troupe of twerking dwarfs on stage.
Miley became overwhelmed by emotions as she sang the words "don't you ever say I just walked away, I will always want you...", briefly pausing her performance of Wrecking Ball, which is believed to have been written about her relationship with Australian actor Liam Hemsworth.
She also took a moment to thank her fans: "Thank you guys! Happy New Year. Thanks so much for this year. I am so thankful."
Earlier, Miley had asked her fans to pray for her and wish her well ahead of the show because coughing and twerking is not a "good combo". We'll take your word for it, Miley.
