He described it as ‘strange behaviour for someone who is gagging for me to pick up the phone and say let’s do it’

Noel Gallagher has once again extinguished hopes of an Oasis reunion.

The musician has blamed his “moron” brother Liam for ruining its chances, stating that every tweet he posts is a “nail in the coffin” of a potential comeback.

Noel told The Big Issue: “It’s strange behaviour for someone who is gagging for me to pick up the phone and say let’s do it.

“He’d put his whole life on hold to get Oasis back together. But every tweet he sends out, it’s another nail in the coffin of that idea.”

The High Flying Birds frontman issued a message to Liam, adding: “If you think for one minute I am going to share a stage with you after what you’ve said you are f***ing more of a moron than you look.”

He said he believes Liam’s remarks come from a “place of hate”.

Oasis broke up in 2009. In August, Liam said he’d consider putting his rift with Noel behind him so the band could reunite.

“That’s my band,” he said. “You know what I mean? That’s my band, but we got to become brothers first before we start talking about music. When we start liking each other, inevitably the next step would be to take the band for a spin round the block.”
